Blending locally available materials and skills, artisans from The Kishkinda Trust in Anegundi created Bala Anjaneya who hails from the land of Kishkinda, the fabled birthplace of the mighty Hanuman. He is sewn by the talented women artisans of Anegundi using the simple kaudi stitch which brings out his features and embellishments. His snout, hands and feet are crocheted in the banana fibre harvested from the blessed land, and he has a springy tail. He sports a langoti in handwoven ilkal fabric.

At the beginning of the Covid -19 pandemic, this baby Hanuman doll was created by the women artisans as a representation of their inner courage, strength and faith.
